Diving deeper into the latest release from Trendsetter Music, led by BraedenV in a collaborative boom-bap rap track featuring island rapper Spivey and producer Kevoh.

Fade Out is a new school take on a classic boom-bap style rap track from BraedenV, featuring a guest verse from melodic rapper Spivey.
Produced by Kevoh, the track has a dark, moody key melody and a vibing baseline. It's an immediate head-nodder, as the track eschews an intro, opening with BraedenV's defiant first verse, 'Its my turn, spectators/watch and learn.'
Fade Out is BraedenV's first release in nearly a year. His last release; a driving, uptempo rap banger titled All In, which had a guest verse from Kevoh, who in turn, produced the beat for Fade Out.
BraedenV explains, 'Kevoh's production style has always done a lot for inspiring good songs out of me. He produced one of my personal favorite collaborations to date, 'Everything is Fine', featuring East Coast Music Award nominee Charles Ruth of the Umbrella Collective. He made a dreamy, lofi-esque boombap beat for that track, and it came out beautifully.
Kevoh sent me a beatpack that had this track on it. Immediately, I felt the groove and vibe of the track and knew I could make something fun and interesting with it.
I wrote a verse that I felt was really smooth and had some attitude, and it kind of reminded me of Trendsetter, the way the track sort of has a confidence to it. I wrote this hook that I felt was catchy, then I hit up Spivey.
I remember asking him, "You want to talk some shit on this new track I'm working on? It'll be fun, like the new Trendsetter."
Spivey was in.
So I worked on some other tracks while he wrote his verse, then he sent me a demo version, and I listened to it and was like, "This is going to shock some people. I love it."
Then I went and adjusted and tightened my verse a bit so I didn't get washed by Spivey on my own song.'
Fade Out made its live debut over the summer of 2024, and has quickly become a crowd favorite at BraedenV shows.

During BraedenV's recent 'Neon Nights' East Coast Tour, the pair performed their collabs together on several occasions. Crowds had their hands up, were waving their arms back and forth, and singing the chorus back to the duo, The vibey energy of the track and the on stage energy of the pairing is infectious.
Fade Out is the fourth time Spivey and BraedenV have appeared on a record together.
Their first track together was a single called 'Back on Beat', an early crowd-favorite that featured masked rapper 'The Pr02Type'. Spivey's cutting final verse on what became known as 'BoB' (Back on Beat) put a cap on one of Prince Edward Island's best live three-verse collabs in the HipHop genre in the past five years.
Their next appearances together were to industry acclaim, as 'Trendsetter (feat. Spivey)' earned three MusicPEI provincial award nominations.
Spivey's 'Heaven (feat. BraedenV)' off his album 'Fever Dreams' also earned MusicPEI award nods for Hip-Hop/Rap Recording of the Year in 2022.
The duo rap back and forth in the chorus of Fade Out, showcasing their individual styles that balance each other out surprisingly well. BraedenV's brand is a more mainstream one that appeals to wider audiences, while Spivey embodies the underground hiphop heads who come for the bars and stay for the content.
Fade Out is the two's boldest offering to date, as both artists upped the stakes on this record like never before.
If BraedenV's upcoming Neon Nights serves more of the improved writing, rapping and diverse skillset he showcased in this single, then it could become the most interesting work of the rising artists career.
Fade Out is live September 27th.
BraedenV has slated a follow-up single due for the end of October, with a new track from Neon Nights coming every month.
